About the Library
The Foundation exists to enhance the programs and services of Fairfax County Public Library (FCPL). To learn more about the 23 branches, events, and services, please visit the county website: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/library/
FCPL serves the 1.1 million residents of Fairfax County, and the Cities of Fairfax and Falls Church. In addition to being the go-to place for borrowing books and e-books for free, FCPL provides a variety of services to the community, including tutoring and workshops in the new technology, computer software, and genealogy research; discussion groups; online career center; e-resources in a variety of subjects; presentations by distinguished authors and other noteworthy speakers; free meeting space for eligible groups; conversation classes for people learning English; and much more — including the programs supported by the Foundation.
Last year 4,814,043 individuals visited the 23 FCPL branches, borrowing 12,095,926 items. There were 4,757,428 visits to the library website.
