“Bon Voyage” – Apartment in the French Riviera with ocean views
We have a new international destination up for auction this year, thanks to our partnership with the Friends of Pohick Regional Library! This is a week-long stay at a luxury two-bedroom apartment in the French Riviera in Nice, France, with ocean views! From the website:
“The Palais Mercedes is located at 54 Promenade des Anglais, close to the famous hotel Negresco and central Nice. This luxurious beachfront apartment is located in a secure residence on the 3rd floor, featuring a large terrace overlooking the beach. The south facing terrace allows one to enjoy both day and night with prominent views of the famous Promenade des Anglais and the ocean.
Large two bedroom apartment with lots of living space and comfortable amenities. Foyer, living, & dining room. Master bedroom with king size bed, and hall bedroom with full size bed. Full service kitchen with utensils and most needed small appliances. Dishwasher, washing machine & dryer. One full bath and one half-bath. Balcony has retractable awning to control the amount of sun or shade one desires. For the hot summer months, the apartment has three dedicated air conditioning units with remote control operation. Flat screen TV with French cable service and Wifi for Internet access for computer and mobile devices. Telephone, with free calling to Europe and US.
Nice itself is an attraction: the rich blue-green sea, diverse shopping, splendid dining and lovely art-deco façades. But there are several spots that a tourist simply must see, such as the Cours Saleya Flower Market, the Matisse Museum, ancient Roman ruins, the Russian Cathedral and more. Nice is second only to Paris in the number of museums and galleries. Some top attractions include: Promenade des Anglais, Cours Saleya Flower Market, Matisse Museum, Vieux Nice or Old Nice, Le Chateau, Rue de France Pedestrian Zone, Theatre de la Photographie et de l’Image, Russian Cathedral, Nice Archaeology Museum and Roman Ruins, Nice Port.” It’s also near the Alps, so it’s still a popular destination in winter months.
